The Exemplary Challenge: A Woman I Admire

When I saw Lady in a needlepoint shop in 2016, I had to purchase the canvas without consideration. The portrait in this painted canvas bears an uncanny resemblance to a very special person in my life. This anonymous friend has many roles in my life. She is my partner in crime in the needlearts world, my therapist, my counselor, my teacher, my sister, my mother, and my conscience. To do her portrait justice and reflect her personality and fashion sense, I decided to bling her up by using all beads to stitch her portrait. I also changed the paint colors by painting over the original colors with some of her favorite colors. In addition to changing the shape of the painted canvas from circular to square, I added earrings since that is more her style. If you recognize her here at Assembly, then I have done her justice!
