1st Place, Non-Professional Original

This bag was adapted from a pattern by Ariane Zurcher called “Making Waves”. I loved the secondary background movement the “fabric waves” created. I used that design to construct the base of my sea-inspired case. I love to mix natural items into my stitching projects. I’m a texture junkie and used many different threads to create the organic feeling I wanted. My sea items remind me of good times at the coast and many wonderful hours spent beach combing. It is “art with a purpose,” a piece of stitched fiber art I can use for multiple purposes.
