I was inspired to stitch this painted canvas by the potential for creating depth in such a small piece. I enjoyed the opportunity to select colors and stitches that would further the illusion of distance between the foreground flowers and the mountains in the distance, as well as using the painting of the sky to be seen through open canvas stitching.
