3rd Place, Non-Professional Non-Original with Instruction

The original design is https://www.inspirationsstudios.com/blackwell-roundel-by-jenny-adin-christie/. I first saw this piece during the pandemic. I was intrigued by the embroidery on organza, and the backing by gold dupioni behind certain elements. The design encompassed a number of techniques that I have not tried before. However, it was impossible to order the kit from Australia due to COVID shipping restrictions. I settled for the digital download. I modified and simplified it to suit my available stash, which is not extensive enough to encompass all the required supplies. Most of the simplifications were around the center element and the wild rose, eliminating the wide variety of beads, sequins and paillettes that were in the design. I hope I have remained true to the spirit of the piece. It was a good experience and gave me confidence to modify a design due to necessity.
