The Exemplary 2023:
1st Place, Professional Non-Original with Instructon

Living in an area of many Frank Lloyd Wright creations, I became enchanted with his designs but not the individual. I received permission and encouragement from the designer/teacher, Toni Gerdes, to make color changes in her class representing a bit darker look to his colors in this stunning kimono. Utilizing stranded silks, a small amount of Kreinik and Bijoux, hand-cut mica to represent his many windows, and beads from India, I stitched my view of what I’ve titled, “The Dark Wright”.
